According
to the Employment Service Statistics, at the end of July the number of
unemployed jobseekers registered at Employment and Economic Development Offices
totalled 288,900, down 1,200 on the previous year.
The number
of new vacancies reported to Employment and Economic Development Offices during
July totalled 28,200, or 3,600 more than July in the previous year. In all, the
number of unfilled vacancies at Employment and Economic Development Offices
amounted to 48,200 in July, which is 5,300 more than a
year ago.
At the end
of July, unemployed jobseekers under 25 years of age numbered 41,900,
representing a decrease by 1,600 from July a year ago.
At the end
of July, the number of long-term unemployed who had been unemployed without
interruption for more than a year amounted to 57,100, up 16,100 on the previous
year. Of those, persons unemployed without interruption for more than two years
numbered 16,500, up 1,300 on the previous year.
The number
of foreign citizens among unemployed jobseekers totalled 22,400, up 1,800 from
July a year ago. Of these foreign unemployed jobseekers, EU/EEA citizens
accounted for 4,400 at the end of July, up 300 from the year before.
