unemployed jobseekers registered at Employment and Economic Development Offices
totalled 275,600, down 200 on the previous year. Compared with May, the number

The

ending of fixed-term contracts represented an increase in unemployment
particularly among women, up 19,800 from May.
The number
of new vacancies reported to Employment and Economic Development Offices during
June totalled 33,100, or 4,200 more than June in the previous year. In all, the
number of unfilled vacancies at Employment and Economic Development Offices
amounted to 58,000 in June, which is 6,900 more than a
year ago.

of June, unemployed jobseekers under 25 years of age numbered 39,400,
representing a decrease by 1,100 from June a year ago and an increase by 8,100
since May. A total of 12,200 of those under 20 years
of age were unemployed.
At the end
of June, the number of long-term unemployed who had been unemployed without
interruption for more than a year amounted to 54,900, up 14,000 on the previous
year. Of those, persons unemployed without interruption for more than two years
numbered 15,900, down 100 on the previous year.
